In an interview with CNNo lawyer Antônio Carlos de Almeida Castro, known as Kakay and responsible for defense of senator Ciro Nogueirastated that the parliamentarian did not receive any type of transfer or “allowance” of the former banker and controller of Banco Master, Daniel Vorcaro.
“This money certainly did not reach Ciro’s account. I guarantee, on behalf of Ciro Nogueira, that there was no allowance”, declared Kakay.
A PF identified payments, allegedly coordinated by Vorcaro in favor of the senator.
According to investigations, exchanges of messages were found between Felipe Cançado Vorcaro, cousin of the former banker, and Daniel Vorcaro discussing the amounts of the transfers.
According to the PFthe transfers to the parliamentarian would occur due to the so-called “BRGD/CNLF partnership”. The company BRGD SA, linked to the Vorcaro family, would be the source of the resources, while CNLF Empreendimentos Imobiliários, linked to the senator and formally managed by his brother, Raimundo Neto e Silva Nogueira Lima, would have received the amounts.
Last Thursday (7), the operation, authorized by Minister André Mendonça, of the Federal Supreme Court, points to the parliamentarian’s alleged involvement in actions that would have benefited Banco Master and Daniel Vorcaro. During the action, agents searched the senator’s residence, in Brasília, and seized the parliamentarian’s cell phone and a tablet.
Still at CNNKakay stated that a possible breach of Ciro Nogueira’s banking secrecy could benefit the defense.
“It’s even good that the senator’s bank secrecy is broken. It’s always a concern for people who have the right to bank secrecy, but this will produce important negative evidence for the senator,” he said.
