The tension continues at . They announced that they hit two tankers trying to enter an Iranian port in the Gulf of Oman. For its part, Iran spoke of a clear violation of the ceasefire.
According to the CENTCOM statement, an F/A-18 Super Hornet struck two Iranian-flagged oil tankers without cargo. The US Central Command points out that the strikes were precise and aimed at the chimneys of the ships.
“U.S. forces in the Middle East remain committed to fully enforcing the embargo on ships entering or leaving Iran,” said Adm. Brad Cooper, CENTCOM commander. “Our highly trained men and women in uniform do an incredible job.”
“Iran does not bend to pressure”
In a post on X, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said “Iranians never give in to pressure” and questioned whether the US actions were a crude pressure tactic or the result of “a nerd once again fooling the US President”.
“Every time a diplomatic solution is on the table, the US chooses a reckless military adventure,” Aragchi said.
Araghchi also boasted that Iran’s missile stockpile and launch capability were at “120%” of pre-war levels, attaching a clip from a US newspaper report that said the CIA had found that Iran had managed to retain more of its weaponry after the US-Israeli bombing campaign than first estimated.
Every time a diplomatic solution is on the table, the U.S. opts for a reckless military adventure. Is it a crude pressure tactic? Or the result of a spoiler once again duping POTUS into another quagmire?
Whatever the causes, outcome is the same: Iranians never bow to pressure.
