Ofner holds up well against Sinner in Rome, but loses in two sets


Rome – Jannik Sinner was an insurmountable hurdle for Sebastian Ofner. The Styrian held up well against the tennis world number one in the second round of the Masters 1000 clay court tournament in Rome on Saturday, but had to admit defeat 3:6 and 4:6 after 1:41 hours. It was Ofner’s first duel with the South Tyrolean on the ATP tour; Sinner also prevailed at Challenger level in the final in St. Ulrich in Val Gardena in 2019.
