Iran has responded to the United States’ peace proposal and demands the lifting of economic and control of the Strait of Hormuz. Trump dismissed the response as “totally unacceptable.”
The content of the Iranian response was reported by the Tasnim agency, linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, the ideological army of the Tehran regime, citing diplomatic sources who explained the demand that the United States (USA) “fulfill some commitments”.
According to Tasnim, the government of the ‘ayatollahs’ demanded the end of the blockade and that the export of crude oil from Iran be allowed, as well as the lifting of US economic sanctions on Iran and its assets in the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
The Iranian proposal also specified that the Strait of Hormuz, the scene of tensions between Washington and Tehran that keep the global economy on hold, be managed by the Islamic Republic under some unspecified “commitments” on the part of the US.
Trump says Iran’s response “is completely unacceptable”
Moments before these terms were mentioned in international agencies, American President Donald Trump assured that he considers the Iranian response “totally unacceptable”.
“I just read the response from the so-called ‘representatives’ of Iran. I don’t like it at all – It’s totally unacceptable [escrito em maiúsculas] ! Thank you for your attention to this matter,” he wrote on his social network Truth Social, without giving further details about the refusal.
The American head of state once again resorted to writing in capital letters, as he often does to emphasize his message.
According to Tasnim, Tehran proposes that the end immediately after the deal is announced, with a 30-day period thereafter during which negotiation of the potential pact is completed.
Washington expected to receive this missive over the weekend to decide whether to maintain the truce that began on April 8 or, on the contrary, to resume hostilities given the lack of progress in dismantling Iran’s uranium enrichment program.
