O Corinthians won important victory this Sunday (10), for the 15th round of the Brasileirão. After a balanced and good first half, the black and white team took off in the second half e beat São Paulo 3-2. Raniele, Matheuzinho and Breno Bidon scored for the home team, while Luciano scored for the visitors and Matheuzinho, against, scored the second Tricolor goal.

With the result, Corinthians reached 18 points. While the São Paulo team remains stuck at 24 and is asking for the chance to get closer to the first placed in the classification.

Despite the cold and rainy weather in Itaquera, Corinthians and São Paulo played an extremely hot derby, especially in the first half. You The first 45 minutes ended with widespread confusionforcing referee Anderson Daronco to contain his temper and hand out yellow cards.

It all started with Luciano’s equalizer in the 40th minute. São Paulo’s number 10 received an assist from Bobadilla, who disarmed Raniele during a Corinthians ball. The attacker only had the job of pushing the ball towards the goal. During the celebration, he went to the corner flag, but didn’t kick it, as he did on other occasions.

Other São Paulo players arrived to hug him. At the celebration, Calleri was hit in the hand by a pair of glasses and an electronic cigarette coming from the stands. The number 9 stayed on the ground with his hands on the back of his head, when Matheus Bidu arrived to lift him up. The confusion started there and, after a few minutes and a lot of pushing and shoving, the tempers were contained. Daronco handed out yellow cards but did not promptly restart the match.

VAR analyzed some images regarding a possible obscene gesture by Bobadilla. The field referee checked the images and concluded that the Paraguayan from São Paulo didn’t touch his genitals. That’s why he didn’t punish him with a red card. Seven minutes of extra time were added due to all the delay – which took much longer than seven minutes.

If in the final moments the game was hot, with the ball rolling the atmosphere was the same. It wasn’t a bad first half, quite the opposite. Corinthians explored the middle well, with Rodrigo Garro and André Carrillo commanding the actions, while the São Paulo exploited the speed of its wingers, sometimes reaching Hugo Souza’s goal.

The draw was fair, the game was good, and the first ball in the net came in the 16th minute. It was from a corner kick that Raniele opened the scoring. The midfielder deflected the aerial ball at the first post, with no chance for Rafael, who just watched. The São Paulo players complained about Luciano being pushed, but Daronco did not give in.

The return to the dressing rooms promised a good technical and tactical performance from both teams, just as it was in the first 45 minutes. But instead, what we had was a delay due to fans Corinthians, who threw several pieces of paper onto the field, forcing Neo Química Arena employees to clean it up. The traditional 15 minutes became 23.

Once the match started, the two teams came back exactly the same, with the same backgrounds and desire to play ball. And Matheuzinho soon tried to do a painting to put Corinthians back ahead on the scoreboard. After blocking with Carrillo and leaving Ferreira on the ground, the black and white winger hit a beautiful shot from the edge of the area and the ball fell into the back of goalkeeper Rafael’s net.

The goal exposed the biggest weak point in São Paulo’s defensive sector: the midfield. So much so that the third goal didn’t take long to come. Rodrigo Garro received the ball from Matheus Bidu and had all the necessary freedom to think about the game and advance in the tricolor intermediate. Finally, he found Breno Bidon at the edge of the area. The number 7 had patience and calm to dominate, adjust and put the ball into the back of the net.

Roger Machado’s coaching staff was apathetic and the coach didn’t even react after Corinthians’ third goal. On the field, the São Paulo continued to press, did not give upbut he also did not create effective plays to seek the second goal. The arrivals of Cauly and Luan did not change the visiting team’s level – on the contrary. It was Corinthians who continued to grow and create better chances.

If the São Paulo players were unable to score the second, the MorumBis team counted on Matheuzinho’s luck and bad luck to reduce the deficit. Cauly raised the ball during a corner kick and the Corinthians full-back made a mistake in trying to clear the ball.

Six minutes were added, but they were not enough for a draw for the São Paulo team. The weather heated up again thanks to an awkwardness between Luan and Labyad, but the score didn’t change because of that.

Corinthians now turns its attention to the Copa do Brasil. The Parque São Jorge team faces Barra FC, on Thursday, the 14th, in the return match (the first match was 1-0 for Corinthians). São Paulo is also preparing to visit Juventude for the Copa do Brasil on Wednesday, the 13th (first game was 1-0 for the MorumBis club).
