Candidate for São Paulo, the president of the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo, André do Prado (PL), presented projects as a state deputy that clash with the Bolsonarist booklet.
endorsed by the former federal deputy (PL), generated , who considers him a representative of the center.
A deputy since 2011, Prado was one of the co-authors, in May 2020, of a bill creating emergency rules for the pandemic. Among other points, it provided for social distancing on public transport and required the use of masks.
The project was signed by 65 deputies, none of them from the Bolsonaro bench, which has always criticized the restrictions imposed during the pandemic.
Another example was a September 2011 project he presented against the sale of toy guns in the state. In justification, he criticized weapons, whose free possession is a Bolsonarist flag.
Prado criticized the “trivialization of the weapon, as if it were permitted, accepted by the family and society, and not a highly dangerous and destructive object.” He also said that toy guns “create a culture of criminality from childhood.”
In the same year of 2011, Prado was one of the 17 co-authors of a bill that named a road complex on Avenida Jacu Pêssego, in the east zone of São Paulo, after former vice-president José Alencar, who died that year.
Alencar was vice president of President Lula (PT) in his first two terms and belonged to the PL, when the party supported the PT member.
