“It’s a group I had a lot of fun with”: Mourinho already speaks in the past, but denies contacts with other clubs

José Mourinho guarantees that he will only make a decision about the future after the game against Estoril Praia, the last in the championship. The coach said at the conference post-draw against SC Braga that he had fun coaching the team this season, but reiteratesor what, for now, is only focused on Benfica.

by 2-2, Real Madrid’s alleged interest in Mourinho was once again the topic.

The coach did not add any more information to the statement he made before the meeting. On Sunday, he assured that he had not yet spoken to other clubs and, this Monday, he underlined that.

“In the last two weeks of the championship we don’t have to think about the future, we don’t have to think about contracts. We have to think about the mission we had”he stated.

Talking about the future, he said he had “a lot of fun” working with the current squad:

“It’s a group with which I went to training, always happy to be with them, leaving training happy to have worked with them.”

Despite the chosen verb tense, the coach clarified that this has nothing to do with the fact that he has already made a decision regarding his professional future.:

“It doesn’t sound like goodbye, it sounds like the respect I have for them [pelos jogadores do Benfica].”
