Taipei/Beijing/Washington – Following US President Donald Trump’s announced talks with the Chinese leadership about US weapons for Taiwan, Taipei has announced increased cooperation with its most important ally. “We will further strengthen cooperation with the US side and build effective deterrence capabilities,” a Taiwanese Foreign Ministry spokesman said on Tuesday. Together we should ensure “peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait”.
