Italy welcomed Britain’s Princess Kate on Wednesday for her first official visit abroad since being diagnosed with cancer in 2024. On the main square of the city in the north of Italy and in the surrounding streets on Wednesday hundreds of people gathered to welcome the princess on her arrival. Some waved UK flags, others waved it through banners with “Ciao Kate” signs they greeted.
In Reggio Emilia, the princess plans to meet teachers, parents and children, visit two public kindergartens, where classes are arranged in open common areas – “piazzas” – and equipped with their own kitchens and studios to encourage children to experiment with materials, colors and sounds.
