The American film “Dark Horse”, which tells the story of former president Jair Bolsonaro, may face difficulties in releasing on the scheduled date, in September this year, a month before the elections that will define the next president of the Republic.
In the past, the Superior Electoral Court has already suspended the release of a documentary entitled “Who ordered Jair Bolsonaro to be killed?”. The film, produced by Parallel Brazilwould be shown on the eve of the second round in 2022, but was blocked from being shown.
The suspension occurred at the request of the coalition of parties that supported Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and the PT. The expectation is that, if the new film is released, parties and even the PT itself will contact the Electoral Court requesting a decision of a similar nature.
The film “Dark Horse” made headlines this week after the newspaper The Intercept Brazil leak of an audio in which Flávio Bolsonaro asks for R$61 million in private financing from banker Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master, so that the feature film that tells the story of Bolsonaro’s 2018 presidential campaign could get off the ground.
In the dialogues, the senator and presidential candidate is aware of the delicate situation that Banco Master was going through and tries to confirm with the banker whether “installments” would still be paid to finance a biographical film about Jair.
