Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit China on May 19 and 20, the Kremlin said this Saturday (16).
Putin and will discuss bilateral relations and exchange views on important international and regional issues, the Kremlin said in a statement.
The visit of the Russian president was timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the Treaty of Good Neighborhood and Friendly Cooperation, which serves as the basis for interstate relations.
After the talks, the leaders will sign a joint declaration, along with a series of intergovernmental, interdepartmental and other bilateral agreements.
The visit program also includes a meeting with the Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, Li Qiang, to discuss prospects for trade and economic cooperation.
The Russian government reported on Friday (15) that Putin expects Donald Trump to go to China directly with the Chinese leader.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Putin’s upcoming visit to China would be “a good opportunity to exchange views on the issues.”
