The North American private fund Mercury Legacy Trust purchased a house in Arlington, Texas, for US$753,500 (R$3.8 million). According to Folha de S.Paulo, the entity is linked to Paulo Calixto, lawyer for the former federal deputy (PL-SP) in the United States.
Calixto’s U.S. law firm is listed as a registered agent for another company, Havengate Development Fund LP. The fund received US$2 million (R$11.3 million) from banker Daniel Vorcaro to finance the film “”, biopic about (PL).
The purchase of the residence, carried out in February, was signed by André Porciúncula, who served as Secretary for Promotion of Culture in the Bolsonaro government. The property is in the metropolitan region of Dallas, an area that serves as a base for Eduardo Bolsonaro.
The 2 legal fronts operate at the same address in Dallas. Calixto’s office was provided for political meetings held by the former federal deputy. Official company records do not indicate whether there is a direct financial relationship between the businesses.
Calixto’s movements must be analyzed by the Federal Police. The corporation wants to know whether Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master, sent resources at the request of Senator Flávio Bolsonaro to subsidize Eduardo Bolsonaro’s actions against the STF (Supreme Federal Court) in the USA.
The investigation began after the website release recordings in which the senator asks Vorcaro for money to produce the feature film. The banker was arrested on suspicion of billion-dollar fraud.
Documents record that Calixto has lived in Arlington since 1998, when he purchased a property with his wife, Ana Calixto. The couple declared the property their primary residence in Tarrant County in 2016 and used it as collateral for credit with Quicken Loans.
