In the quarter, 10 new producing wells came into operation, 7 in the Campos Basin and 3 in the Santos Basin
A Petrobras recorded a record for its own production in the 1st quarter of 2026 (1Q26), with an average of 3.23 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed). The volume represents an increase of 3.7% compared to the 4th quarter of 2025 (4Q25) and 16.1% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Production was mainly driven by the ramp-up of FPSOs P-78, in the Búzios field, Alexandre de Gusmão, in the Mero field, and Anna Nery and Anita Garibaldi, in the Marlim and Voador fields. The state-owned company also attributed the performance to maintaining field productivity, operational efficiency and reducing losses associated with maintenance stoppages.
In the quarter, 10 new producing wells came into operation, 7 in the Campos Basin and 3 in the Santos Basin.
Among the highlights of the exploration and production (E&P) segment, the Búzios field platforms reached a daily operating record of 1.037 million barrels of oil on March 20. The Mero field also surpassed the mark of 700 thousand barrels produced in a single day.
Petrobras also reported that the P-78 platform began gas injection on March 2, 61 days after the start of production — the shortest time for commissioning the gas compression and injection system among the company’s own platforms. The P-79 docking operation was completed in 12 days, setting a new internal record.
The state-owned company also recorded quarterly records for total operated production, with 4.65 million boed, and total operated production in the pre-salt, with 4.01 million boed.
Refining grows 6.7% in the quarter
In the refining, transportation and marketing (RTC) segment, total production of derivatives grew 6.7% compared to 4Q25, reaching 1.816 million barrels per day (Mbpd). Diesel, aviation kerosene (AVQ) and gasoline accounted for 68% of the total production of derivatives in the period.
The total utilization factor (FUT) of the refining park reached 95% in the quarter, 6 percentage points above the previous quarter. In March, the index reached 97.4%, the highest level since December 2014.
Petrobras also recorded a monthly record for S10 diesel production in March, with 512 Mbpd. According to the company, the share of pre-salt oil in the processed cargo reached 69%, expanding operational flexibility for the production of higher value-added derivatives.
Sales of derivatives on the domestic market grew 2.9% year-on-year. QAV sales totaled 126 Mbpd, an increase of 9.6% compared to 1Q25.
The state-owned company also highlighted the reduction in LPG imports. In the quarter, the imported volume was 26 Mbpd, the lowest ever recorded by the company. According to Petrobras, the result was favored by the production of the Boaventura Energy Complex and the greater use of the refining park.
The president of Petrobras, Magda Chambriardstated that getting closer to end consumers allows the company to develop solutions that are more aligned with market demands and decarbonization goals.
