Viktoria and Helene are both in their mid-forties and have been best friends since childhood. When Viktoria separated from her unfaithful ex-husband and raised her now adult daughter Lara as a single parent, this was only possible with Helene’s help; for Lara she became a kind of foster mother. But now a man’s story is driving a wedge between these two women. When Viktoria meets Polly, a language arts student who is 20 years her junior, and a relationship develops between the two, an argument breaks out with Helene.
