The former deputy (PL-SP) said on Sunday (May 17, 2026) that he does not live in a house purchased by the founder of , and who lives “for rent”. In a video published on social media, he stated that they try “assassinate our reputation” com “unfounded suspicions”.
According to yes Folha de S.Paulothe North American private fund Mercury Legacy Trust purchased a house in Arlington, Texas, for US$753,500 (R$3.8 million). The entity is linked to Paulo Calixto, Eduardo Bolsonaro’s lawyer in the United States.
“The house I live in in the United States was not bought by Vorcaro or with Vorcaro’s money. Detail, I don’t even live in the city of Arlington. Do you know why? Because I live on rent”said Eduardo.
Calixto’s U.S. law firm is listed as a registered agent for another company, Havengate Development Fund LP. The fund received US$2 million (R$11.3 million) from banker Daniel Vorcaro to finance the film “”biopic about (PL).
“The accusation that I managed these resources in the fund is false. The fund, as it is set up, called Heavengate, I have no management over it. I just transferred my copyrights”said Eduardo.
The purchase of the residence, carried out in February, was signed by André Porciúncula, who served as Secretary for Promotion of Culture in the Bolsonaro government. The property is in the metropolitan region of Dallas, an area that serves as a base for Eduardo Bolsonaro.
“There is one thing that ‘Intercept’ doesn’t tell you, that I have a property, yes, but in Brazil, paid in installments over decades, like every other Brazilian, and I am unable to honor the installments of this financing because my account in Brazil is blocked”these.
Calixto’s movements must be analyzed by the Federal Police. The corporation wants to know whether Daniel Vorcaro sent resources at the senator’s request (PL-RJ) to finance Eduardo Bolsonaro’s actions against the Federal Supreme Court in the USA.
The investigation began after the website release recordings in which the senator asks Vorcaro for money to produce the feature film. The banker was arrested on suspicion of billion-dollar fraud.
