SHMÚ warns that ground frost will hit Slovakia at night: Prepare for temperatures down to -2 degrees in these districts

In some districts of Slovakia there is a risk of ground frost on the night from Monday to Tuesday (May 19). It represents a threat to lower vegetation. This is pointed out by the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ), which issued warnings of the first level. He informs about it on his website.

The warnings apply to the entire Žilina region and the districts of Malacky, Ilava, Považská Bystrica, Púchov, Senica and Skalica. “At a height of five centimeters above the surface, the minimum air temperature is expected to reach zero to minus two degrees Celsius,” states SHMÚ. Warnings apply from 1:00 a.m. to 6:30 a.m.
