Real chicks hatch from completely artificial eggs for the first time

The biotech company that already made headlines with plans to “resurrection” the mammoth or the “dire wolf” is once again causing a global stir on Tuesday. Colossal Biosciences announced that the company’s researchers had succeeded in hatching chicks from an artificial egg for the first time. In the long term, the technology is intended to help resurrect extinct bird species such as the three-meter-tall giant moa from New Zealand, which was largely wiped out at the end of the 14th century by the Maori who had recently arrived.
