
Two minors, brothers, aged three and five, were found by a member of the public this Tuesday near the road that connects Alcácer do Sal to Comporta. The two children were in good health and were under the responsibility of the French embassy.
A member of the public found the two children, French nationality, in the Monte Novo do Sul area. The smallest they had no identification like you. The GNR received the alert and the military went to the location, close to a bakery, where they found the children.
This Wednesday, the children were taken to Setúbal hospitalwhere they will remain hospitalized until measures are determined by the Public Ministry.
At the hospital unit, the French embassy contacted the children, said a source from the GNR Public Relations office, without revealing more information about the case, as “investigation steps are still ongoing”.
According to , during observation at the hospital, the children were able to write their names, an element considered crucial to locating their family.
They are clinically stable and there are no signs of injuries. However, they are scared and emotionally affected.
The minors reportedly told health professionals at the Setúbal hospital that the last person they were with was their mother, who had given them food before leaving them on the road.
Authorities are now investigating the circumstances under which the children were found. THE abandonment hypothesis is being considered, as there are no reports of disappearances related to minors.
In addition to the Public Ministry, the case was reported to the Commission for the Protection of Children and Young People.
