Istanbul – For Philipp Lienhart, the dream of a Europa League title remained unfulfilled. Austria’s soccer team player suffered a 3-0 (0-2) defeat wearing SC Freiburg’s jersey against Aston Villa in Besiktas Park in Istanbul on Wednesday. The clearly favored English team celebrated only their second triumph in the European Cup; in 1982 they had won the then Master Cup (1-0 against Bayern). There was no happy ending for the German Bundesliga club in the first European Cup final in the club’s history.
