President mentions Palestinian destruction by Benjamin Netanyahu when stating that he found ministries dismantled when he returned to the Planalto
The president (PT) stated this Thursday (May 21, 2026) that the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, destroyed the “little houses in Gaza”. The statement was made during a speech at the 6th National Web of Cultural Points, in Aracruz (ES), when comparing the destruction of the Gaza Strip with what he called “scorched earth” inherited from the government of (PL).
Lula stated that “destroying is very easy” and cited Israeli attacks on Palestinian territory to defend the reconstruction of public policies in Brazil. “How many years did it take the Palestinians to build their little houses in Gaza? How long did it take for them to destroy most of the things?”he declared.
The PT member once again criticized Netanyahu and the Israeli military offensive in Gaza. Since the beginning of the war, Lula has accused Israel of carrying out massacres against Palestinian civilians and has compared military action to the Holocaust.
Lula’s last relevant public speech about Benjamin Netanyahu before this Thursday’s speech (May 21) was on May 17, to the Washington Post.
At the time, Lula stated that Donald Trump knew that he condemned the “genocide in Palestine” and was against the war in Iran.
Previously, on April 14, Lula made more direct criticism of Netanyahu. that the Israeli Prime Minister “It’s bad for humanity”stated that he is “out of line” and revealed that he even considered breaking diplomatic relations with Israel.
CRITICISM OF BOLSONARO
This Thursday’s speech (May 21) was marked by criticism of the government of . Lula said that the previous administration “destroyed” public policies and accused the former president of governing through “hate office” – expression used to refer to the core of dissemination of attacks and disinformation linked to Bolsonaro’s allies.
The PT member also referred to the former president’s administration as “period of lies” not country.stated: “We never went after the Daniel Vorcaro law to finance any Brazilian artist.” The declaration makes reference to the film “Dark Horse” and the involvement of (PL) with Banco Master.
Lula further declared that “a lot more will appear” and associated political opponents with disinformation practices and political violence.
The event marked the resumption of the National Network of Cultural Points after 12 years. The ceremony brought together representatives of popular culture, traditional people and public managers from across the country.
During the meeting, Minister Margareth Menezes (Culture) signed the regulations for the Festejos Populares do Brasil program. Lula also signed decrees to restructure the National Council for Cultural Policy and create the National Policy for Traditional and Popular Cultures.
Singer Luedji Luna participated in the ceremony and sang the National Anthem. Also present were Senator Fabiano Contarato (PT-ES), substitute Minister of Health Adriano Massuda and Minister of Education, Leonardo Barchini.
