May 21 (Reuters) – Cuba accepted an US offer of US$ 100 million in humanitarian aid, Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters this Thursday.

“We in the United States are offering to help you not only alleviate the current crisis, but also build a better future,” Rubio said in a State Department message on Cuban Independence Day.
In his video speech, delivered in Spanish, Rubio attributed the country’s current problems to the greed and corruption of its leaders.
“The real reason you have no electricity, no fuel, no food is because those who control your country looted billions of dollars, but none of it was used to help the people,” Rubio declared.
