Poland banned the entry of the Israeli minister Ben Gvir for inappropriate behavior

Poland has banned the entry of Israeli minister Itamar Ben Gvir for five years. The measure is a response to his behavior towards detained Global Sumud Flotilla activists.

Polish Minister of the Interior Marcin Kierwiňski announced in a video on the social network X on Thursday evening that Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir has been banned from entering Poland for five years. TASR informs about it according to the report of the PAP agency.

“Mistreatment of Polish citizens will always be met with a reaction. Regardless of who is perpetrating such behavior. At the request of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and (Foreign Minister) Radoslaw Sikorski… Itamar Ben Gvir is now formally banned from entering Poland,” Kierwiňski wrote on the X network.

They asked for an apology

The Israeli navy detained hundreds of activists from the pro-Palestinian initiative Global Sumud Flotilla on Monday. On Wednesday, Ben Gvir released a video mocking the captured activists, who are kneeling with their heads bowed on the ground, their hands cuffed behind their backs and blindfolded. Sikorski previously said on the X social network that he had ordered to summon the chargé d’affaires of Israel in Warsaw so that the Polish side would hand him a protest against the behavior of Israeli officials and ask for an apology for the actions of a member of the Israeli government.

The spokesman of the department, Maciej Wewiór, then informed that Sikorski submitted a request to the Ministry of the Interior to ban Ben Gvir from entering Polish territory. Kierwiňski responded that he had decided to start the proceedings and that he had the same opinion as Sikorski.
