Washington (AP) — Republicans in the U.S. Senate on Thursday abandoned plans to vote on a key bill to fund U.S. immigration enforcement, including ICE, in protest at demands from President Donald Trump. The stumbling block was a $1.8 billion compensation fund for alleged victims of “political instrumentalization” of government agencies, which was presented as part of the law.
