TWO weather extremes will divide Europe: Slovakia is in for a temperature shock! See the forecast for June

This year’s June could divide Europe into two significant temperature extremes. While summer temperatures should prevail over the west and south-west of the continent, according to a Facebook group forecast, the rest of Europe could find itself in the grip of a cold air flow.

The forecast is based on model maps of the temperature anomaly at a height of approximately 1,500 meters above the ground. “In other words, it compares whether the air is warmer or cooler than the long-term normal for late May and early June,” the site admin explained. He added that this map points to possible extremes in the form of large temperature contrasts that could prevail in Europe in June.

“While western and south-western Europe would continue to enter a markedly warm to very warm flow from Spain through France to the British Isles, northern, central and eastern Europe, including the Czech Republic, would remain under the influence of a colder flow from the north to the northeast,” specified the site.

The portal added that this could mean significantly lower daytime temperatures, more cloud cover and, in some areas, precipitation. In addition to the Czech Republic, we could partially feel it in Slovakia as well. For our neighbors, according to preliminary estimates, from the end of May, daily temperatures could mostly only be around 13 to 18 °C, while from the beginning of June it could be even colder, in some places only around 10 to 16 °C.

As far as Slovakia is concerned, the data indicate that we will find ourselves rather at the interface of these two regimes. If you don’t know whether you should take out a swimsuit from the closet or rather an umbrella and a transitional jacket, the answer is simple – prepare both! Already during the weekend and at the beginning of the new week, temperatures will rise. It will start very pleasant 27 °C. Gradually, the mercury in the thermometer climbs to 30 to 31 °C, locally and on 32 °C.

However, stable sunlight will not last long. We will feel the first changes from Thursday, May 28, when showers and storms start to appear in the forecast. They will accompany us in the following days as well. The biggest risk of getting really wet is around Saturday, May 30when the probability of precipitation rises to 60 %.

The arrival of June will bring cooling instead of summer comfort. On Monday June 1 could the maximum temperature range around 22 °Con Tuesday June 2 will drop to 19 °C and in Thursday, June 4 the mercury of the thermometers will go even lower to 17 °C. Night and morning temperatures should not be underestimated either. Especially in valleys and basins, thermometers can only show 5 to 8 °C.

The drastic temperature drop will not be permanent. After a few days, the situation will turn around again and summer weather will return to Slovakia. V Saturday, June 6 we should have pleasant ones 24 °C av Monday, June 8 the temperature will attack again 29 °C. Since this is a forecast several days ahead, the exact timing of precipitation and temperatures may still shift slightly. However, the scenario is clear – the turn of the months will be extremely changeable.
