Flávio Bolsonaro’s campaign coordinator, Rogério Marinho, and the president of the PL in Minas Geraisfederal deputy Domingos Sávio, will meet this Wednesday (27) with senator Cleitinho Azevedo (Republicans). The meeting is treated by party members as decisive for define who will be the candidate for governor of the state supported by the PL in the October dispute. Minas is the second largest electoral college in Brazil and is usually decisive in presidential elections.
Despite the bets falling on Cleitinho, who leads the voting intention polls, Domingos Sávio stated that the PL is working with another scenario: launching its own candidacy. The name that appears most strongly is that of Flávio Roscoe, former president of the Federation of Industries of the State of Minas Gerais (FIEMG). “I have been working for a center-right and right-wing alliance in Minas and the possibilities remain open both for coalitions and for my own candidacy”, says the president of the PL in Minas Gerais.
