Portugal is one of the favorite destinations for Brazilian executives
In recent years, Portugal has established itself as one of the most sought after destinations for Brazilians interested in international academic experiences.
Cultural and linguistic proximity helps to explain this movement. The country also gained relevance in areas linked to innovation, business and digital transformation.
In this scenario, LAIOB opened this Monday (25) a new selection process for international executive programs carried out in Portugal.
The classes will take place in May 2027 and will be divided into two programs: Leadership & Project Management with AI and Strategic Business Management. The courses take place in partnership with Iscte Executive Education, a Portuguese business school focused on executive training.

According to Luisa Villela, CEO of LAIOB, the growth in demand reflects a change in the way professionals see career development. “There is a very clear perception that the market has become global even for those who operate locally. The executive realized that he needs to acquire a global context to keep up with the speed of change.”
The executive also states that the short-term programs serve professionals who are unable to take months away from the operation, but still seek practical updating and international networking.
For the executive, the short-term model also helps explain the increase in demand. “Today, many professionals are unable to take months away from the operation. Immersive executive programs emerge precisely as an alternative for those looking for practical updating and international networking without having to completely interrupt their career.”
How the selection process works
LAIOB’s new selection process will focus on professionals interested in deepening their knowledge in leadership, management, business and artificial intelligence.
Candidates will be able to compete for partial and full scholarships, with percentages of 30%, 50%, 70% and 100%, distributed according to evaluation criteria defined by the institution.
According to André Fauri, founder of LAIOB, the interest of executives goes beyond technical learning. “There is a very strong search for strategic vision, content and context at a global level and high-level networking.”
According to him, international experiences have also started to function as a professional acceleration tool, especially for executives who wish to expand their leadership repertoire, market reading and analytical capacity in the face of the transformations caused by AI and the digitalization of companies.
