Tragic head-on collision on a narrow road near Fiľakov: The female driver († 50) was trapped in the car

A head-on collision between two passenger cars occurred near Fiľakov in the Lučenec district on Monday (May 25) evening. The accident claimed the life of a 50-year-old woman, the driver of the other vehicle was taken to the hospital. TASR was informed about this by the spokeswoman of the Regional Directorate of the Police Force in Banská Bystrica, Nikola Žabková.

The tragic traffic accident occurred on the road between the villages of Šíd and Fiľakov in the late evening. “According to preliminary information, there should have been a collision of vehicles on a narrow road, where it was not possible to determine the cause and degree of culpability of the traffic accident on the spot,” zoomed in on Žabková.

The driver of one of the cars was trapped in the vehicle after the collision, from which the firemen had to free her. “She was then taken to a hospital in Lučenec, where she succumbed to her injuries,” the regional police spokeswoman said, adding that the 45-year-old driver of the second vehicle was taken to the hospital with injuries.

Breathalyzer tests for both drivers were negative. The traffic accident is still under investigation.
