Flávio says Trump asked about Bolsonaro’s “prison conditions”

The pre-candidate for Planalto spoke with the President of the USA this Tuesday and reported the North American’s concern about Jair Bolsonaro

The senator (PL-RJ) said this Tuesday (May 26, 2026) that the president of the United States, , asked about the health and legal situation of his father, the former president (PL). The statement was given to journalists after speaking with the Republican in the Oval Office of the White House, in Washington.

According to the congressman, Trump’s first attitude upon receiving him was to ask about the former president. Flávio stated that the North American wanted to know “about prison conditions, about how he [Jair] is and how the family has been dealing with all of this”.

The senator, who is also a pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic in 2026, declared that the attitude was “a human gesture” and demonstrated “deep gratitude” for the attention shown by the North American.

The meeting was outside of Trump’s schedule released by the White House. Flávio was accompanied by his brother Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) and journalist Paulo Figueiredo. It was not known who arranged the meeting.

The senator also said that he intends to meet with other members of the United States government. He, however, did not mention names.

Allies say talks are scheduled with high-ranking members of the State Department. The US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, however, is not in the country: according to his statement, he is in India.
