Lula’s allies claim that the opposition pre-candidate is trying to divert the focus from his relationship with Daniel Vorcaro
The president’s allies criticized the presidential candidate’s (PL – RJ) trip to the United States. The senator was at the White House this Tuesday (May 26, 2026) and met with US President Donald Trump in the Oval Office.
The discourse adopted by members of the government base was that the agenda in Washington would be an attempt to redirect public attention away from the controversies involving Flávio’s relationship with former banker Daniel Vorcaro.
The minister, from the General Secretariat of the Presidency, the deputy (RJ), deputy leader of the PT in the Chamber, and the former minister and pre-candidate for deputy for São Paulo, (PT) spoke about the trip.

The minister also mocked the public security agenda presented by Flávio to Trump and questioned whether the senator asked the North American president to classify militias in Rio de Janeiro as criminal organizations.

The former minister also criticized the meeting. He said in a post on social media that Flávio went to the USA accompanied by “two fugitives”, in reference to Eduardo Bolsonaro and Paulo Figueiredo, and stated that the senator traveled to “conspire against Brazil”.
“He’s running away from the problems in Brazil, right, because Cláudio Castro is being investigated and the question being asked is who introduced Vorcaro to whom? Was it Flávio Bolsonaro who presented Vorcaro to Cláudio Castro, to divert R$4 billion from RioPrevidência to Grupo Master, or was it the other way around?”, he stated.
“Dark Horse” case
Flávio’s relationship with Vorcaro began to be explored by opponents after the revelation that the senator sought financing from the founder of Banco Master for the production of a film about Jair Bolsonaro, the “Dark Horse”. Flávio denies irregularities and says that the negotiation was private and legal.
