The senator (PSB-MG) stated this Friday (May 29, 2026) that the Senate will give “priority attention” to the proposal that foresees the end of . According to the former president of the House, the topic has already been “assimilated” by society and the National Congress.
“The Chamber demonstrated, even through the result of the vote, the feeling of the people’s representatives that this is a necessity”he told journalists after participating in the Lide Innovation and Technology Seminar, held in São Paulo.
According to the senator, the president of the Senate, (União Brasil-AP), is aware of the relevance of the issue for the country. “President Davi himself is very aware that this is today an agenda for the country, it is an agenda for the Brazilian people”he declared.
Pacheco also stated that the Senate will be able to discuss possible changes to the text approved by the Chamber of Deputies, but indicated that the matter will be processed as a priority.
“The Senate will have all the time to make its reflections, see how it can eventually collaborate with some improvement of the text or not”these.
In the senator’s assessment, the proposal is currently one of the most important topics being analyzed by congressmen. “Of all the topics presented in the Federal Senate today, this 6 X 1 scale topic is perhaps the most relevant to respond to”he stated.
During the interview, Pacheco also criticized the politically polarized environment and said that part of the public debate has been dominated by “invented crises to generate engagement”especially on social media.
