The cult fairy tale Three Nuts for Cinderella ensured Pavlov Trávníček eternal glory. Generations of Europeans will forever associate him with the figure of a fairy-tale prince. At the end of October, the Czech actor celebrated his 75th birthday in style and also talked about his retirement, which most of his show business colleagues complain about.
According to his own words, he celebrated his birthday like all the previous ones. “There is no reason to be sad, even if the number is increasing unstoppably. The celebration will take place with family and friends whom I have known and love throughout my life. We’ll sit, some music, wine – and we’ll go home,” he said.
During the year, Trávnicek had health problems and had to undergo cardiac surgery, but despite this, his good mood never leaves him. This is probably also due to the fact that in retirement he only does activities that make him happy. “I only do what I like. I don’t do what I don’t like. They are younger, faster, more developed, more beautiful, so let them try now. I have tried enough in my whole life.” he explained.
The actor did not defend himself when asked about the amount of the pension and whether he is satisfied with it, but he did not specify the exact amount. “I’ll ask at home,” he laughed and continued: “I think I’m satisfied, so I must be. There’s nothing else left for me.” added Trávniček, who knows how to earn extra money for his pension during the winter months.
Every year, the castle in Moritzburg organizes exhibitions dedicated to this fairy tale, and it is regularly visited by Trávníček, who willingly tells fans stories from the set or signs photos. Šafránková never participated in such an event and did not even agree to the sale of photographs and advertising items with her likeness, although it would generate considerable income for the actress as well as for him.
With the arrival of Christmas, the Germans always go crazy for Cinderella and call the representative of the prince to dozens of events not only in the castle. The actor always has a lot of work in German-speaking countries, and on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the filming, the Germans prepared a huge tour.
“During it, Pavel and other living actors will perform in large halls,” said his wife Monika for in 2022. According to the Czech media, at that time he collected up to 1,500 euros for some transactions, but everything depended on the agreement of his management with the organizer.
Similar events awaited the native of the Czech city of Konice this year as well. The actor attended indoor concerts – a unique project Three Nuts for Cinderella Kinokoncert – where the fairy tale was shown on a large LED screen and was accompanied by a symphony orchestra. There was also a stop at the castle in Moritzburg and various talk shows.
