The technical committee of the Brazilian team defined this Saturday (30) Brazil’s number for the 2026 World Cup and confirmed that Neymar will wear the historic number 10 shirt in the tournament.
The number will already be used in friendlies before the World Cup, with Panama, this Sunday (31), and against Egypt, next Saturday (6).
Brazil’s number 10 shirt in the last three World Cups, Neymar counted on the support of the squad to wear the number again in North America.
Until then, Vinicius Junior was the one who wore the shirt immortalized by Pelé. The Real Madrid striker, however, is one of the players who wanted to see Neymar again with number 10. Furthermore, he maintains a strong connection with the number 7 shirt, the number he wears at the Spanish club.
Matheus Cunha, another candidate for 10th place in the World Cup, will take 9th place.
