Petrobras announces reduction of R$0.35 in the price of diesel

The government authorized the subsidy on Saturday (May 30, 2026), through , aimed at producers and importers of diesel oil for road use in the country. The objective is to stabilize price and supply to guarantee the supply of diesel.

The new price of R$3.30 per liter represents a reduction of 37.4% compared to the value charged on December 31, 2022, considering inflation in the period. The economic subsidy authorized by the federal government was established at R$1.12 per liter.

The implementation directly affects distributors that purchase fuel from the state-owned company.

For the end consumer, according to Petrobras, the discount in an amount equivalent to that of the economic subsidy will neutralize the reimbursement of (Social Integration Program) and (Contribution to the Financing of Social Security), also from June 1st.

Petrobras reported that it is evaluating the terms of the new subsidy. The company did not detail which specific aspects are being analyzed.
