The Brazilian government is already working with the idea of announcing new tariffs for Brazil this week. Authorities familiar with the matter expect it to be announced by this Wednesday (3).
The report is also the result of an investigation by the US Trade Office (USTR), but this time it targets 60 countries.
The new investigation investigates the import of products made through forced labor. The expectation of the business sector is also negative in this scenario.
But even if other countries are affected, the internal assessment is that Brazil will be most affected due to the 25% tariffs already announced by the North American government.
This Tuesday (2), the USA concluded the section 301 investigation against Brazil and imported goods. The US government talks about unfair trade practices in Brazil. The decision, however, is not final.
