PF director defends investigation into ‘Dark Horse’ – 06/02/2026 – Politics

The general director of , Andrei Rodrigues, said this Tuesday (2) that he sees the need to launch an investigation into the sending of resources by the former banker to the USA under the justification of financing the film “”.

One of the suspicions is that these resources (PL-SP) are in the United States, where he has lived since February 2025. The PF also wants to know whether they were used for other actions by the former president’s allies in the Donald Trump government.

According to Andrei, in recent weeks the PF analyzed representations that were sent to the body regarding this topic and, later, sent one of them to the (Attorney General’s Office) to comment on the content, the appropriate forum and who would be the rapporteur of the process.

“There is a need to launch an investigation to investigate all these circumstances that permeate these episodes”, said the director general, in an interview with GloboNews.

Asked if this would be an investigation separate from the other investigations dealing with the Master, he replied: “In the understanding of our technical area, yes.”

“[É necessário] a separate process because it is necessary to analyze new elements that have now been brought into the eventual support of people abroad who are confabulating and articulating against Brazil, including coercing during the process, as is the case with a process that is already underway”.

Andrei said that he sees three paths for these investigations: the first is for them to be added to the Master’s case, which is under the report of , at the (Supreme Federal Court).

Another way is for them to be reported by Alexandre de Moraes, who is conducting an investigation into Eduardo Bolsonaro’s actions in the United States.

A third possibility, says the director general, is that they are distributed freely, by lot, to another member of the Supreme Court.

The resources would have gone to a fund controlled by Eduardo’s allies and based in Texas, USA.

When the financing of the film Dark Horse with resources from Vorcaro was revealed by the website Intercept Brasil, senator Flávio Bolsonaro said in a statement that the “insinuation that resources were allocated to Eduardo Bolsonaro” was false.

“The contributions were directed to a specific production fund, with its own legal structure and supervision in the United States.”

The PF intends to understand whether the resources — which would have been sent at the request of the Master’s owner — were, in fact, used to finance the film or whether part of it served to pay for Eduardo’s life in the country, where he moved alleging persecution by STF minister. The former parliamentarian has already taken part in his wife.

Eduardo went to the USA last year. He is a defendant at the STF in an action under , under the report of Moraes.

The indictment says he sought sanctions against Brazil and Brazilian authorities with the aim of disrupting the progress of Jair Bolsonaro’s trial for the coup plot.

The PGR’s complaint was filed on September 21, after Bolsonaro’s conviction for an attempted coup d’état. The document cites Eduardo’s public statements, interviews and posts in which he explains his role in imposing sanctions. In November 2025, the First Panel of the Supreme Court unanimously accepted the complaint.

Last year, Eduardo called the accusation false and said that the Attorney General of the Republic, Paulo Gonet, is “a lackey of [Alexandre de] Moraes”. The defense also argues that there was no violence or serious threat in the episode.
