The woman, who introduced herself as Gabriele, said she ran away from home due to mistreatment and had no documents. To justify her more adult appearance, she claimed to suffer from autism and to have taken hormones during her childhood.
The family, who treated her like a daughter, even organized a children’s birthday party for her. The woman was arrested and accused of embezzlement and false identity. The police discovered that she had already committed the same crime in other states.
