Vatican City/San Jose (California) – Pope Leo XIV has his PayPal balance back. The treasurer of the US state of Illinois, Michael Frerichs, brought the church leader the 8.65 US dollars (7.45 euros) to Rome. They date from the time before his election as Pope in May 2025. Frerichs commented on the handover on Bluesky with the words: “His bank may have hung up on Pope Leo last month, but today there was no need for a telephone in the Vatican.”
