The former mayor of Rio also leads the 1st round scenario, 48.3% of voting intentions
Former mayor of Rio de Janeiro Eduardo Paes (PSD) would beat state deputy Douglas Ruas (PL) in a possible second round of the dispute for state government. This is what a survey by the Paraná Pesquisas institute, released this Thursday (4), indicates.
Paes appears with 60% of voting intentions, while Ruas registers 24.5%. White, null or none of the two pre-candidates account for 10.8%. They don’t know or didn’t answer, 4.6%.
The former mayor of Rio also leads the 1st round scenario48.3% of voting intentions, followed by: Douglas Ruas (12.6%); Anthony Garotinho, from the Republicans (9.2%); André Marinho, from Novo (4.2%); Wilson Witzel, from DC (3.1%); Firefighter Rafa Luz, from Missão (2.6%); and William Siri, from PSOL (0.6%). White, null or none of the pre-candidates, 12.9%. They don’t know or didn’t answer, making up 6.5%.
The research was carried out through personal, home and in-person interviews, between June 1 and 3, 2026. 1,680 voters were interviewed in 62 municipalities. The survey has a confidence level of 95.0% for an estimated margin of error of approximately 2.4 percentage points for the overall results.
