The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mauro Vieira, stated in an interview with GloboNews that the arguments used by the United States to impose new tariffs on Brazil are not legitimate. The chancellor said he hopes that Brazilian responses to accusations of illegal commercial practices and the use of forced labor will be taken into account at the negotiating table with the White House.
“We provided all the necessary information. What we hope is that this is all taken into account and that it is proven that there is no reason for us to be subject to tariffs, because all the arguments presented we have proven are not legitimate”, said Mauro Vieira.
