TRF-6 adopts teleworking and suspends use of elevator – 06/05/2026 – Frederico Vasconcelos

The Federal Court in Minas Gerais determined the partial unavailability of the elevators in the Antônio Fernando Pinheiro building, in , since last Friday (29).

The informed that 2 of the 4 pieces of equipment are temporarily inoperative.

“To preserve the safety, accessibility and working conditions of judges, civil servants, collaborators and those under jurisdiction,” the court recommended, in a preventive and temporary manner, teleworking until June 8, 2026, informed the press office.

In July 2024, a server suffered a serious accident in the same building. The Civil Police report was sent to the TRF-6 only on November 28, 2024, concluding that it was not possible to determine the cause of the accident.

In December 2024, an accident in the Oscar Dias Corrêa building resulted in the death of technician Aldemir Rodrigues de Souza, from the company Reformar Elevadores.

On that occasion, the president of TRF-6, Vallisney Oliveira, ordered the closure of the three Federal Court buildings in Belo Horizonte, and extended teleworking until the beginning of the judicial recess. The ban was extended twice.

The TRF-6 reported that “the administration’s actions have always been guided by the priority of people’s safety and the immediate adoption of the necessary measures in the face of each recorded occurrence.”

With the expectation of becoming a model for the Federal Justice. The project faced resistance. The former presidents of João Otávio de Noronha promised a modern court without new expenses. The court was the least productive of the six TRFs, in 2024 and 2025.

Aspiring to a place in the Supreme Court, Noronha and Martins accelerated the approval process of the sixth TRF.

They intended.

STJ refutes criticism of congress on ethics

The noises were predictable with the simultaneous production of , and another edition of .

The president of the STJ, Herman Benjamin, coexists with divergent opinions in the court. For a dozen ministers, this year there was one more reason to join the international party.

Luís Felipe Salomão is pampered as elected president of the STJ. He introduced himself as “leader of the STJ bench” at the event.

At the end of the , Benjamin denied information published by the Metrópoles website (without mentioning the vehicle).

Here are the main contested points:

The website reported that it “found” that the preliminary event at TRF-2 “was a pretext for the tourist itinerary” and that “STJ’s foreign guests took a tour of Rio de Janeiro”; “around 50 official vehicles were used”.

Benjamin refuted: the meeting held in Rio de Janeiro was not “an excuse for a trip to the city”.

“On the weekend, only two vans were used to transport five presidents and six ministers from international and supreme courts. Transport was carried out collectively, not individually. No vehicles were rented for transport in Rio.”

“The option for vans and public transport — which is at odds with protocol practice in events of this nature — reinforces the court’s concern with costs.”

“There is no information about an alleged visit to the Maracanã stadium.”

”During the Brazilian team’s game that took place on Sunday, the delegation was already in Brasília, in order to participate in the congress.”

“At the Brasília Congress, which was attended by presidents and representatives of 23 foreign courts, only three had international air tickets paid for by the STJ (South Africa, Argentina and Peru), in economy class. The others covered travel costs.”

The website stated that, “unlike , the Lisbon Forum is not sponsored with public resources”.

My opinion: I think they tried to paste practices from Lisbon convescotes into the STJ event.
