The Israeli Army attacks “military targets” in western and central Iran

Trump reveals that he was going to attack Iran this Tuesday and that his Arab allies asked him to stop it "for two or three days"

The Israeli Army reported this Monday the attack against “military targets” in western and central Iran, hours after Tehran launched missiles against Israel in retaliation for Israeli attacks against Lebanon.

“The Israeli Air Force attacked military targets (…) in western and central Iran,” the Israeli Army said in a message published on its Telegram profile, without adding more details.

For its part, the Iranian Fars news agency reported on its social networks about explosions in areas of the Iranian cities of Tehran, Isfahan and Tabriz.

The Israeli offensive comes after the launch this Sunday by Iran of several waves of missiles against Israel, reported Iranian state television, which puts at risk the negotiations promoted by the US to stop the war in the Middle East.

“Iran has launched missiles against Israel,” reported IRIB (state television).

The official media showed images of missiles flying over the sky in the western Iranian province of Kermanshah and of people celebrating the new offensive in the streets.

The Iranian missiles were launched after the Israeli attack on two apartments in the southern suburbs of Beirut known as Dahye, where at least two people were killed and 20 injured this Sunday. Israel assured that it was an operation against a headquarters of the Shiite group Hezbollah.

Iran had already anticipated that, if Israel’s attacks against Lebanon continued, the Islamic Republic would retaliate considering that the ceasefire it reached with the US on April 8 includes the Arab nation.

For its part, the Israeli Army claimed to have intercepted all the missiles launched by Iran.

The resumption of hostilities jeopardizes the success of the negotiations promoted by the United States, which is why President Trump was quick to say that he will ask Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to respond to the offensive.

“I’m going to call Bibi (Netanyahu) right now and tell him not to fight back. Each of them had their fun. Israel had their bombing, and Iran had their bombing. We don’t need another one,” Trump declared by phone to an Axios reporter.
