
A strong earthquake of magnitude 7.8 shook the coasts of the island of Mindanao, south of the Philippines, on Monday, where the country’s authorities, as well as those of neighboring Indonesia, have issued tsunami warnings. At least 19 people have died from this earthquake and another 129 are injured, according to Rodrigo Sosmeña, director of the Mindanao civil defense office. The earthquake had its epicenter off the coast of the city of General Santos.
