O TSE (Superior Electoral Court) last week opened a public consultation with the aim of receiving contributions for the new electronic voting machines that should be used in the 2028 election. The process was made official through a Call Notice published on DOU (Official Gazette of the Union) last Wednesday (3).
The Electoral Justice initiative continues a study from 2025, when the first dialogues with the market on the subject took place. The notice invites companies, manufacturers and other interested parties to present technical suggestions that could contribute to the .
The proposals accepted and analyzed by the TSE technical team may incorporate the Terms of Reference, which may go through public hearings for debate. The final document must guide the bidding process to which should already be used in upcoming municipal elections.
The public consultation will be open for 21 days, counting from the publication of the notice, with the possibility of extension according to the body’s criteria.
To participate, interested parties must send contributions exclusively via email. urna2028@tse.jus.br.
The TSE advises that suggestions need to be accompanied by technical justification and may include proposals to change, include or replace the requirements set out in the annexes to the notice.
