The launched the GIJN Academy, an international platform dedicated to the training and development of investigative journalists. The initiative brings together courses, training, webinars, masterclasses and mentoring programs aimed at professionals at different stages of their career.
According to the organization, the academy was created to strengthen investigative work in the face of challenges such as disinformation, digital threats, the climate crisis and attacks on democracy. The platform is now available and can be accessed by .
The proposal also includes the production of teaching materials for teachers and instructors, in addition to the dissemination of research and academic works presented at the Global Investigative Journalism Conferences.
The platform offers content on topics such as investigative journalism, data journalism, digital security, data leaks, environmental crimes, food insecurity and corruption. Among the courses available are training on climate coverage, the use of AI in data-driven investigations and digital protection for journalists.
The network intends to expand the offer of courses, establish partnerships with universities and training centers and encourage collaboration between journalists, researchers and educators.
In addition to free resources, the platform will offer paid courses and personalized training for newsrooms and media organizations. The revenue raised will help finance educational activities open to the public.
