A Disney and Pixar released a new version of “Friend I’m Here”this time in the voice of João Gomes, in a forró version. For the song that celebrates friendship, the singer from Pernambuco called two childhood friends for the music video, Jeovanny and Pedro.
The music video was recorded at Disney Hollywood Studios, in Florida, at Toy Story Land, and at Pixar studios, in addition to featuring excerpts from . “Our imagination takes us to a new world. A world of our own. Just like in , did those old toys of mine go around when I wasn’t there?”, begins the new version.
Also participating in the recording are João’s childhood friends, Pedro and Jeovanny, a duo that accompanied him at the beginning of his singing career.
The original version, “You’ve Gotta a Friend in Me”, was released in 1995 with the voice of Randy Newman, at the time for the soundtrack of the franchise’s debut title. In the same year, Zé da Viola reinterpreted the song in Portuguese entitled “Amigo Isso Aqui”, and also recorded two more: “Coisas Estranhas” and “Voar Eu Não Vou Nunca Mais”.
The sequence “Toy Story 5”returns with the story of Buzz, Woody, Jessie and the other toys facing a new challenge: children’s addiction to electronic devices.
