Brazil opens markets to export agricultural products to 17 countries

The country will be able to sell everything from cashew nuts to bovine genetic material to markets in Latin America, Africa and Eurasia

Brazil was able to export new agricultural products to 13 trading partners from 17 countries, according to a joint note released this Tuesday (June 9, 2026) by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Agriculture and Livestock.

The partners are Argentina, Bolivia, El Salvador, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Guyana, Honduras, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Paraguay, Dominican Republic, Venezuela and the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), formed by Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia.

Among the approved products are:

  • Pacu-caranha semen – Argentina;
  • Salted cowhide – Bolivia;
  • Bovine genetic material – El Salvador and Honduras;
  • Brazilian popcorn – Ecuador and Dominican Republic;
  • Coconut seeds – Guyana;
  • Sugarcane seedlings – Honduras;
  • Habanero pepper seeds – Nicaragua;
  • Castor seeds – Paraguay
  • Passion fruit seeds – Venezuela;
  • Flours and fats from fish, ruminants and other animals and blood products for animal feed – Ethiopia;
  • Fertile eggs – Nigeria;
  • Cashew nuts – UEE (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia.

According to the ministry, UEE purchased US$1.4 billion in Brazilian agricultural products last year. Soy, meat and coffee are among the items sold with the block.

With the new authorizations, Brazilian agribusiness has opened a total of 639 markets since the beginning of 2023. Brazilian producers and exporters in the sectors covered will be able to begin commercial operations with the newly opened markets.
