Thunderstorms should be expected in eastern Slovakia on Wednesday, heavier rain may also occur in several districts of central Slovakia, especially in the north. This is pointed out by the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ), which issued warnings of the first level. He informs about it on his website.
Thunderstorm warnings are in effect for the entire Košice region, almost the entire Prešov region and the districts of Revúca and Rimavská Sobota. According to meteorologists, the probability of occurrence of storms associated with a heavy downpour with an intensity of 20 to 30 millimeters (mm) in 30 minutes, with wind gusts of 65 to 85 kilometers per hour (km/h) and with hail. The warnings are tentatively valid until midnight from Wednesday to Thursday (June 11).
Rain warnings are in effect for the entire Žilina region and the districts of Banská Bystrica, Brezno and Poprad. Rarely there can be an occurrence rain with a total of 35 to 40 mm of precipitation. The warnings are provisionally valid until 03:00 on Thursday.
