Messi comeback in Argentina’s victorious dress rehearsal

Montgomery/Auburn – Argentina’s football fans can breathe a sigh of relief. The recently ailing superstar Lionel Messi made his comeback two days before the start of the World Cup at the defending champion’s successful World Cup dress rehearsal. When Austria’s group opponents beat Iceland 3-0 on Tuesday in Auburn, Alabama, the 38-year-old came on as a substitute in the 70th minute and scored two minutes later with a penalty to make it 2-0. The other goals were scored by Valentin Barco (8th) and Thiago Almada (86th).
