Police officers from Bánoviec nad Bebravou measured more than 4.2 per thousand of alcohol on a 47-year-old man who was riding an electric scooter in the village of Žitná-Radiša. Trenčín regional police spokeswoman Ingrid Krajčíková informed about it.
“The driver was subjected to a breathalyzer test, and 4.21 per thousand of alcohol was measured in his breath. This was an extreme value, which significantly increases the risk of a fatal accident and endangers not only the driver himself, but also other road users,” added the spokeswoman.
The police on the spot forbade the driver to continue driving, and the incident was reported to the relevant traffic inspectorate for administrative proceedings. The drunken scooter rider was checked during Saturday’s (June 6) county-wide special check aimed mainly at checking motorcycle drivers, cyclists and users of electric scooters.
