- From July 1, the hourly rate for personal assistance will increase to 6.81 euros.
- The cash allowance for the care of one severely disabled person will reach 729 euros.
- Valorization of contributions to social services will increase state expenditures by tens of millions of euros.
The rate for one hour of personal assistance and the amount of cash allowance for caregiving will increase from July 1 of this year. From January 1, 2027, the financial contribution for the provision of social services in some types of social service facilities will also increase.
This follows from two regulations from the workshop of the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family (MPSVR) of the Slovak Republic, which were approved by the government on Wednesday. The changes are related to the growth of the minimum wage, from which the respective contributions are based.
The rate for one hour of personal assistance will be 6.81 euros from the middle of this year. When caring for one physical person with a severe disability, the cash allowance for caregiving will be increased to the amount of the net minimum wage for the year 2026, which amounts to 729 euros. When caring for two persons with severe disabilities, there will be a monthly allowance 969 eur.
The regulation will have a negative impact on the public administration budget in the total amount of 30.2 million euros in 2026 and 20.3 million euros in 2027, the Department of Labor calculated.
The second approved regulation increases the financial contributions from the state budget for the co-financing of social services in selected types of facilities that provide social services in the form of residence from the beginning of next year. The valorization mechanism is determined as a multiple of the monthly minimum wage, which is set at the level of 915 euros in 2026.
In the case of the 1st degree of dependence, it is about 0.25 times (229 euros), at II. degree of dependence 0.5 times (458 euros), at III. degree of dependence 0.65 times (595 euros)at IV. degree of dependence 0.9 times (824 euros) and at V. degree of dependence 1.1 times the minimum wage (1007 euros).
The regulation also valorizes the amount of the financial contribution for the provision of social services in crisis intervention facilities, which will be at the level of 0.5 times the minimum wage in 2026. It represents the amount of 458 euros per month and 5496 euros per fiscal year. According to the estimate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the approved change will have a negative impact on the state budget in the total amount of 49.1 million euros in 2027.
